The goal of the competition was to design urban furniture to be installed in the outdoor areas of Madrid’s School of Architecture. The authors’ plan called for a single, unique piece of furniture, rather than a group of several pieces working together, because that seemed to blend better with the type of outdoor space.
The designers, also students at the School, decided that this new furniture should allow students to work outside as well as to relax and enjoy the sun. ALLIUM is a project thought to enpower the users to decide how to use the piece in different moments in time, so that they can create different atmospheres within the same space at every time.
